One Excellence Phase II

One Excellence Phase II is an architectural facade lighting design for a large commercial complex in Shenzhen, China. The building is about 300 meters high and is covered with glass curtain walls. Simple white light was chosen to emphasize the structure of the tower. Customized luminaires were hidden and embedded inside the curtain wall to control the direction of the light. The vertical and interlaced light recreates the pattern of light and shade that sunlight forms during the day. The result gives the building a calm and rhythmic night appearance.

One Excellence Phase II Large Commercial Complex by Yanchih Wang was highlighted as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. One Excellence Phase II Large Commercial Complex was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2020. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that rewards excellent design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
